This Zhengyan Dahongpao is a perfect embodiment of its terroir. The dry leaf has a mellow orchid fragrance. When brewed, the reddish liquor evolves to an extremely fruity upfront, with waves of juicy plum and apricot exploding across the palate. Sweet florals yield to a robust, baked yam body, but the true magic is the profuse "yun" this contains, a mineral and sweet aftertaste that lingers in your mouth for minutes. A true treat for yancha and non-yancha lovers alike.

This Dancong Red Tea was a crowd favourite from our Weekend Brew Clubs so we're bringing it officially online for sale.

Dancong Red Tea is a relatively new innovation in Chaozhou. By using a blend of Dancong cultivars as raw material and processing it like a red tea, you end up with the best of both words: the signature floral fragrance and aroma of a Dancong, and the smooth and mellow sweetness of a red tea. For a more intense, sweet brew, you may choose to brew it at boiling temperature. For a more floral, layered experience, you may boil it around 90-95°.

Overall, this tea serves as an extremely smooth and pleasant everyday drink for red tea lovers.

Dancong Red Tea

From the high, misty slopes of Wudong Mountain comes this exceptional Honey Orchid Dancong, crafted from approximately 60 year-old bushes and finished with traditional charcoal roasting. It has the character and complexity only more mature trees can offer. 

The liquor brews a clear, golden cup—silky, rich, and perfumed like thick honey infused with delicate orchid. Expect a full, layered body; soft, refined texture; and a lingering, elegant sweetness. A standout among the famed Honey Orchid cultivars, this Old Bush Honey Orchid Dancong was awarded 3rd place in the recent regional Fenghuang Town, Chaozhou region Dancong Competition.
